The Baroda unit was set up in 1943 on 3.5 acres of land having a covered area of 12,000 sq mtrs. It has a versatile manufacturing setup consisting of a captive alloy steel & iron foundry, heavy machining, fabrication & assembly workshops. Over the years, it has developed a large base of quality conscious ancillary units. The Baroda unit has been awarded ISO 9001 certification. The unit has a well-equipped design & engineering office and an R&D center. The unit had entered into a number of technical collaborations in the seventies for vibrating screens (Siebtechnik) and Crushers (Aubema). Although these collaborations have expired, the unit has absorbed the technology and gained technological expertise. MSEL has acquired a 40-acre plot in Baroda for expanding the manufacturing facilities, where a plant with a covered area of 13,200 sq mtrs is being set up in the first phase.
